Mandatory Dives

Two of the five dives are strictly required for certification:

Deep Diving: You will dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters (100 feet) and learn about physiological effects, pressure changes, and safety management.

Underwater Navigation: You will master compass use, kick-cycles, and natural landmarks to find your way underwater.

Prerequisite: You must hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification (or an equivalent qualifying certification from another organization).

Minimum Age: 12 years old (Divers aged 12-14 earn the "Junior" Advanced Open Water certification).

Time Commitment: Typically takes 3 days to complete the practical portion.
